Compassionate trauma-informed care for diverse clients

Meet Madison

I believe that therapy is a collaborative space for individuals to develop their own story through exploration and healing. I approach therapy through a non-pathologizing and harm reduction lens and understand that the client is the expert of their own experience. I view the clinical relationship as a tool for healing in which a client can learn to build trust in others and insight into personal relationships. I want to empower people through the highlighting of their strengths and strengthening of coping mechanisms.

I help individuals navigate systemic oppression, identity development, trauma, relational issues, and self-esteem. I work with individuals to understand how trauma and stress are held in the body. Building the mind-body connection empowers a client to feel in control of themselves and form an empathetic relationship with themselves.

As a multiracial queer individual, I have often reflected on my understanding of self and my relationship to community. I recognize that there are few safe spaces for individuals with marginalized identities to explore what their identity means to them, and I work to create a non-judgmental space for identity development and processing.
